Selena Gomez Reunites with Her “Guys” at AFI Luncheon |
One of our fave friendship trios in Hollywood may be attributed to "Only Murders in the Building". The Hulu series, starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short as Mabel Mora, Oliver Putnam, and Charles-Haden Savage, respectively, follows three strangers who band together to investigate a series of killings in their Upper West Side apartment building. The co-stars have a real-life friendship just as strong as the one their characters had since the show's 2021 premiere. We can also anticipate even more entertaining behind-the-scenes moments from the dynamic three now that the program has been renewed for a fourth season, which centers on yet another unexplained death at the Arconia.
Longtime friends, Martin, 78, and Short, 73, have worked together on a number of iconic movies over the years, such as the Father of the Bride trilogy. Gomez, 31, may have first seemed like an odd addition to the group, but she blends in well, encouraging their ridiculous antics and constantly making jokes about their age difference. Gomez spoke highly of Martin and Short when she appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in 2022, saying, "I could not be luckier to be surrounded by these two fools." They are a lot of fun to be around, and I have picked up a lot of knowledge from them." Additionally, learning has occurred on both ends. Gomez recently spoke about teaching her costars the words of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's song "WAP" while they were on set. How I would want to be a fly on that wall.

The friendship between Gomez, Martin, and Short is more than simply their on-screen chemistry. The three have been in public together on many occasions, from the red carpet at award events to "Only Murders in the Building" season premieres, and they always seem to be enjoying the time of their lives. Gomez also sometimes posts endearing glimpses into their connection on social media by making fun of her co-stars on TikTok and sharing adorable pictures taken in between shooting scenes. They've even dubbed themselves "The OGs." (Gomez had to give them a detailed explanation of the acronym before it became clear to them.)
We're looking back at the best moments of Gomez, Martin, and Short's friendship—from late-night interviews to humorous TikToks—to commemorate our favorite partners in crime (solving).
