Gordon Ramsay is a well-known and opinionated food critic who can be harsh on broken emulsions and bad steaks. The chef, on the other hand, is a big fan of the In-N-Out Double-Double burger when it comes to fast food. In an interview with Premiere Collectibles, Ramsay said, "I will go to an In-N-Out drive-thru, wind down the window, and ask for a Double-Double animal style. They know me, and they give me lots of extras." I just pile them up, jump into the back seat, and eat them all. The ground beef used by In-N-Out is 100% USDA. Ramsay has said that beef chuck is the most important ingredient in the perfect burger blend, so In-N-Out's recipe is right up his alley. "I love In-N-Out," he said. "Really?" Ramsay exclaims with excitement. "I just wish they'd open up in bloody England because those drive-thrus are amazing."

With American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato, onions, and In-N-Out's famous creamy burger sauce, the Double-Double is a big, juicy burger. This is part of the chain's not-so-secret "secret menu." "Animal style" adds grilled onions, a pickle, and more sauce. He told Thrillist in 2022, "No offense to my friend Danny Meyer of Shake Shack [the chain's founder], but it's an In-N-Out burger all the way." Ramsay has been a fan for a long time. Even more so when it's served raw and freshly cooked. "There's nothing better." If you're a vegetarian, you can order In-N-Out's grilled cheese sando "animal style," which means it doesn't have any beef patties. People can also get smothered fries in an animal style.

Ramsay wants his last meal to be In-N-Out

In a Mythical Kitchen episode that went viral, Ramsay said that, along with a full English breakfast, butter chicken, and a deep-fried Mars bar, an In-N-Out burger would be his ideal last meal. I think these guys are amazing. Because they get everything from local sources, they stay in California. "It's a great drive-thru, there's no trouble," Ramsay said on the show. "I lower the window, thank them with a small $100 bill, and grab my Double-Double." Okay, fine. "Heaven."

The late great Anthony Bourdain, another famous chef, said that In-N-Out Burger was his favorite store in L.A. The chef told Eater in 2015, "I like mine animal style. I'd tell you what that is, but I'd have to kill you." He also said that a picture of an In-N-Out Burger sitting alone on a table would get more likes on Instagram than a picture of him, Christopher Walken, the Dalai Lama, and Keith Richards bong ripping in a hot tub.

Ramsay shouldn't hold his breath for any future plans to grow in the UK. In-N-Out turned 75 years old in 2023, but there are still no locations in the United States east of the Mississippi River. Based on data from the company ScrapeHero, the biggest fast food chains in the UK right now are McDonald's, Costa Express, Greggs, and Subway. There aren't any animal-style burgers here (yet).
